Dedicated to improving lives, health and environment of individuals, families, and communities.The Department of Design and Human Environment offers undergraduate instruction in the areas of apparel design, interior design, housing studies, and merchandising management. Advanced courses prepare students for positions in retailing of apparel and home furnishings, housing design and policy, apparel production, promotional work for manufacturers, and graduate work leading to research and college teaching. The Housing Design Option is endorsed by the National Kitchen and Bath Association; graduates may apply to sit for the Certified Kitchen Designer and/or Certified Bath Designer examinations.

Professional Program

Advising

The recently expanded Office of Academic Advising and Student Services is a primary source of information for all College of Health and Human Sciences students. Students receive accurate, thorough, and timely information regarding their academic progress, job opportunities, and campus activities. Five full-time professional advisors oversee the undergraduate students within the College. Faculty members also have a vital role in undergraduate advising by providing professional and career advice, and serve as the primary advisors for graduate students.
