HDFS Graduate Degree Application Process

Applying to the Human Development and Family Sciences Graduate Program involves three steps:

1. Complete the application to Oregon State University. They will ask for:

  • GRE scores - HDFS Institution code is 4586
  • HDFS Department code is 4602
  • Statement of your professional interests
  • Payment of the processing fee
  • TOEFL scores (if you are an international student)

2. Complete the Human Development and Family Sciences Graduate Program Supplemental Form. In this form we will ask for:

  • OSU HDFS Faculty you would like to work with
  • List of OSU HDFS courses you would be interested in assisting
  • List of your research experiences

3. Have each of your recommenders fill out this Form that must accompany each of your three letters of recommendation.

In total, your application will contain the following items:

  • OSU application (with proof of payment)
  • Statement of professional interests
  • Supplemental Form
  • Three letters of reference completed with the following Form
  • Current resume
  • Copy of GRE/TOEFL scores
  • Copy of all original transcripts

Application Deadlines

January 15th is the deadline for priority consideration for assistantships.

Strong students are admitted after the January 15th deadline until April 1st, but assistantships offers are not guaranteed.
