Course of Study

This option is designed for the student who wants to work with young children in early childhood settings. The ECDE option is one link to the Double Degree in Teacher Education, leading to licensure at the Early Childhood/Elementary Education Level. Coursework for this option covers a full range of development classes and includes: Working with Individuals and Families, Family Development, Family/School/Community Collaborations, and Children with Special Needs.

Becoming a Teacher

This is to clarify three paths to becoming a teacher that may be of interest to Human Development and Family Sciences students. 1) Prekindergarten options; 2) Licensure options, including Pre-K/Elementary, in Oregon; and 3) Early Childhood Special Education/Elementary Special Education Options.
