This option will prepare you to work for public or private programs serving individuals or families, or as a caseworker, crisis intervention worker, or activity director for a long term care facility.
Course of Study
The gerontology option complements the Human Services option but focuses on adult development and aging. It also meets the requirements for a certificate in gerontology, increasing students' employability in the many professional areas related to aging. Certification in gerontology is a nationally recognized way of identifying professional's academic study in aging. Having taken courses from a wide variety of disciplines, students are prepared to work in public or private programs related to gerontology.
