Scholarships & Fellowships
OSURA Scholarship:This
scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student. It is awarded
yearly, as funds permit, to support deserving scholars with their
gerontological studies and career pursuits in gerontology.
OREA Scholarship:
The Oregon Retired Educators Association Memorial Fund scholarship has
traditionally awarded one of their $1,000 scholarships for graduate

Josephine Zimmerman Gerontology Fellowship:
Administered by the College of Health and Human Sciences, this
scholarship is for graduate students who are a U.S. citizen with a
concentration in gerontology; preference given to students with prior
work-related experiences and evidence of financial need. Contact HHS to
discuss application, ordinarily due in February.
Program in Gerontology
The Program in Gerontology at Oregon State University began in 1972 and continues as a comprehensive gerontology program. It is administered through the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences with the participation of several schools, colleges, and departments in the University. Additional support has been received from private foundations and donors.
Summer Institute on Research Methodology (July 7-10, 2009)
The Summer Institute on Research Methodology will be held on the Oregon State University campus, hosted by the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS). Research methodology is central to the health and human sciences. The complexity of developmental, social, and health processes require rigorous attention to measurement, sampling, design, and statistical analysis. OSU Gerontology Students Association (OSUGSA)
The purpose of the OSUGSA is to provide members with opportunities for professional development within the interdisciplinary field of gerontology through social activities, networking, community service projects, and educational programs. Undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines with an interest in gerontology are invited to
join. The OSUGSA develops a meeting schedule during the fall quarter. OSUGSA is associated with the Oregon Gerontological Association, and membership in the student club includes membership in the state organization. For more information contact Karen Hooker at hookerk@oregonstate.edu
