Activity Classes - Fall 2007 Class Schedule

  • Offered through the College of Health and Human Sciences at Oregon State University. (For Faculty/Classified, GTA/GRA, Spouse/Partner and Retirees of the University)
  • Registration Begins - Monday, September 10th, 8:00-5:00pm (Aqua, Mind/Body, & Weight Trng. classes)
    Tuesday, September 11th, 8:00am-5:00pm (Aerobic, Conditioning, & other classes)

Please make payment in form of check or exact cash to Faculty/Staff Fitness (FSF). If registering by mail, send form and check to 123 Langton Hall. Mail registration will be processed during in-person registration. Registration is open until classes are filled.
Classes begin Monday, September 24th and end Friday November 30th. NO CLASSES THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY (11/22 & 11/23)

FEATURED CLASSES OF INTEREST

BALLROOM DANCE: Get back in the groove of things! This class will cover a variety of dance styles ranging from the foxtrot, the waltz, the cha cha, the tango, and swing.

FUSION: Class comprises of a mix of pilates and yoga techniques that provide for a well rounded workout.

STRESS RELIEF/MEDITATION: The hardest activity for many is resting. Breathe and meditate on relaxation. Stress relief helps you focus and create a means of reducing your stress load.

TAI CHI: 'T'ai Qi (or T'ai Chi) is an ancient 'internal art' with proven effectiveness for overall health maintenance and enhancement. Best known as an exercise and martial art, T’ai Qi can also be applied towards restoration of balance and harmony to all aspects of life. Common benefits include: improved physical ability and alignment, tension & stress reduction, increased mental balance & focus, improved energy, eased resolution of conflicts, and more. T’ai Chi is based upon a deep philosophical understanding of universal force dynamics, and can be practiced by anyone irrespective of physical capability."

WALKING POLES & PEDOMETERS: You will work on walking skills to increase your cardiovascular system and improve your muscular strength and have fun doing it! You will track your progress and celebrate the improvements at the end of the term.
