Aqua Aerobics

  • "I've been participating in Aqua Aerobics for about 4 years now. It's the one exercise program that I feel is a good workout, it's easy to adapt to and is a lot of fun. The instructors have been great!" - Cindy Skinner, Valley Library

Cardio Kickboxing

  • "I take the Cardio Kickboxing class, which is taught by Rochelle Schwab. To put it mildly, I have never been a fitness nut. On occasion, I might run when chased, and if the elevator broke down in our building, I might climb the stairs to my office rather than turn around, go home, and call in sick for the day. However, I decided to "give fitness a try" last year, and signed up for Cardio Kickboxing during the winter of 2001.
I haven't looked back since. I never thought that you could possibly have any semblance of fun while sweating profusely, but I was sorely mistaken. This high-energy class demands every last bit of concentration, coordination, strength and endurance that I have and I love it. Rochelle is an incredible instructor and she has a "can-do" attitude and enthusiasm that is absolutely infectious. She makes us believe that we *can* plow through 64 heel-strikes in a row, that we *can* squat and leap 16 times in a row, and that we *can* make it through an hour's worth of high-impact drills and not pass out from sheer exhaustion... and by golly, by the end of the term, we all do it. It is amazing to look around the class and realize that so many of us are doing things that we never thought possible. This class is a winner, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of enrolling in an FSF course!" - Leah Burgy, PhD, HDFS

Total Body Health Through Fitness (was Postural Alignment)

  • "After having spent time with the Massage Therapist, Chiropractor and Acupuncturist, I've found a solution I hope will keep me out of their offices: FSF's 'Postural Stability' class. I'm discovering this class to be the most beneficial (as well as economic and healthy) way to deal with stressed, tight muscles, work on realignment and improve range of motion. Plus I fell that I'm doing something positive toward keeping those painful, knotted muscle areas from developing, as well as decreasing the stiffness and loss of mobility that seem to set in as the years go by (to say nothing of staying away from the ibuprofen bottle). This class, with its stretching and flexibility and strengthening exercises, has become a part of my week I don't want to miss." - Kay Yates, Executive Asst. to the Deans, COAS
