The Department of Public Health offers the most comprehensive range of accredited graduate degree programs in the Pacific Northwest.
We offer an array of graduate programs representing the varied disciplines of public health practice. Through its academic programs and diverse range of research endeavors, graduate students gain the theoretical foundations, applied research techniques, and professional skills to function effectively in reducing risks, promoting health and preventing premature disease and disability in human populations.

ASSE Foundation Announces New Doctoral Fellowship for Safety Educators
The American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation and Oregon State University have announced the establishment of a new doctoral fellowship program: “PhD Fellowship for Future Safety Educators.”
“ASSE, the ASSE Foundation, and OSU have been working together for several months in order to make this program available to students,” said Anthony T. Veltri, Ph.D., OSU associate professor of Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) and fellowship program liaison to ASSE. “It was established to provide financial support to highly qualified applicants desiring to obtain a Ph.D. in occupational safety and health while developing teaching and research competencies and capabilities that put them in a position to pursue a career in higher education. The research conducted by students will be focused on making the business case for occupational safety and health.”
