Research
In
many programs of the Public Health department, high achieving undergraduate
and graduate students engage in research activities with faculty and other
students. Students have hands-on opportunities to learn contemporary and
classical research techniques, and participate in research investigations
in several of the specialties within Public Health.
Research investigations are conducted on campus and in community, industrial, and other field sites principally in the Pacific Northwest and internationally. Opportunities are found in such areas as environmental protection, chronic and infectious disease prevention, health services, health informatics, smoking cessation interventions, aging, and mental health. Students are engaged in real-world settings and often learn of the needs of diverse populations. Please visit our Research Grants, Publications, Conference Presentations and Awards.
